In class this week we learned how to say "looks like" using そうです。you can use it with adjectives, verbs and nouns! An example would be このコンピュウタは高そうです。and これは高そうなコンピュウタです。Or この本はおもしろそうです。and これはおもしろそうなほんです。
On Tuesday a Japanese guest came in! We got to interview her and ask some questions, it was really cool. She has traveled to many different places and is a government worker. We have to use our interview questions in a final project for the class. We also had a practice kanji quiz which was pretty easy, so the real quiz should be easy too :) I look forward to learning more next week!

This week we practiced the potential verb forms a lot and learned how to say "because" in another different way, that's a total of 3 different "because"s we can say! using しafter the short form of anything you can say "because." The different thing about this "because" is you can use it multiple times to link reasons in a sentence like so :楽しいし、面白いし、日本語のクラスが大好きです。That is how し works, it is not so hard. We also had a vocab/kanji quiz today and that was not so hard, either. I remembered all the vocab and the kanji so it was great :). Next week a guest is going to visit the class, probably one of sensei's friends. We will ask her 3 questions.
Next week the questions I will ask the guest are
1.がっきをひけますか。
2.食べ物は何がいちばん好きですか。
3.英語を話せますか。

Blog Entry #7 10月9日2014年
This week we had the mid-term exam. The study guides counted as part of the exam, but they also served the purpose of being a very effective way to study. They covered everything we had learned and I just did them like it was the exam and if there was a part I was not sure about then I looked over some hand-outs to refresh myself. It was a good way to study and I did pretty well on the exam so I won't change anything for next time :)
On Thursday we learned some new kanji like 鳥、料理 and 物。We also learned a new grammar: potential form. This form let's us say "can" or "am able to" - a very useful thing to be able to say. The construction for るverbs is just take off the る and add られるor just simply れる。And られるandれる conjugate like るverbs, so it's pretty easy. An example sentence is 見られるor見れる。With うverbs it gets a little trickier. You just take off the "u" at the end and change it to "e" and add る so あむgoes to あめる。Its like that for all う verbs and they aren't that hard. An example sentence is おかあさんはあめる。The tricky ones to remember is that する goes to できる and 来る changes into これる or こられる。ぼくは料理できない。This is a fun verb form and I'll have to practice to remember the う and irregular verbs.
